How much does PSPO I cost? Price, eligibility and renewal
US$200 per attempt, paid once, directly to Scrum.org. No course is required and there is no prerequisite — not even PSM I — and the certification lasts for life.
| Price | US$200 per attempt |
|---|---|
| Required course | No |
| Prerequisite | None (PSM I is not required) |
| Exam password validity | No expiry date, valid for one attempt |
| Renewal | None: lifetime certification, no annual fee |
What you actually pay
Each attempt costs US$200, and the assessment password, with no expiry date, is good for one attempt. The bar is the same as PSM I: 85%, 68 of 80, in 60 minutes.
Taking both PSM I and PSPO I therefore costs US$400 if each is passed first time. Because the two assessments share a large part of the Scrum framework, taking them a few weeks apart lowers the risk of paying for a second attempt.
Who can sit PSPO I?
Anyone. There is no required course and no prerequisite; PSM I is not needed. About a third of the assessment covers the Scrum framework itself, though, which favours candidates who already know it well.
And afterwards?
Like every Scrum.org certification, PSPO I does not expire and carries no renewal fee.
