Mock examA worked example
A question from the bank with its answer and the reasoning behind it. Every practice question comes with an explanation like this one.
A Product Owner reports that a new feature increased daily active users by 12%. Which follow-up question most improves the quality of that evidence?
- AHow many story points did the feature take?
- BCompared with what — was there a control group, and did anything else change in the same period?(correct answer)
- CWhich stakeholder requested the feature?
- DHow many users are aware the feature exists?
Why
A before-and-after number with no comparison confounds the change with seasonality, marketing, pricing and every other simultaneous change. Asking what it was compared against is the question that separates a measured effect from a coincidence. Effort (A) and provenance (C) say nothing about the outcome, and awareness (D) matters but only after the effect itself is established.
