ITIL 5: General Practices practice questions
52 questions on General Practices, one of the 11 areas assessed in ITIL 5 Foundation. Untimed, with an explanation after every answer.
ITIL sorts its practices into three categories. This topic covers the fourteen general management practices adopted from business management, such as strategy, portfolio, architecture, risk, supplier, relationship, and workforce and talent management, plus continual improvement. Questions ask which practice matches a described purpose, which category a named practice belongs to, and what a practice actually is.
Incident management and service request management are service management practices, not general ones; risk management and continual improvement are general. Compliance is not a practice of its own, and benefits realisation management is not an ITIL practice. A practice is not a rigid process: it is a set of organisational resources, such as people, information and tools, adapted to context.
