ITIL 5: ITIL Value System practice questions
36 questions on ITIL Value System, one of the 11 areas assessed in ITIL 5 Foundation. Untimed, with an explanation after every answer.
The ITIL Value System, the new name for the ITIL 4 service value system, describes how an organisation’s components work together to turn opportunity and demand into value. Its five elements are the guiding principles, governance, the product and service lifecycle, practices and continual improvement, with the lifecycle at the centre. Governance evaluates, directs and monitors.
Opportunity and demand are distinct inputs, not synonyms: opportunity is a possibility for value, demand is an actual need. The four dimensions are not an element of the value system. Governance sits inside the system, not outside it, and does not run operations: executing and designing are management. A board that never checks its decisions is missing Monitor.
